In Defence of the Bible

1:10 In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. More and more people are
1:16 increasingly disillusioned with the Bible.
1:19 They grow up learning that the Bible is the Word of God.
1:25 But when they study the Bible carefully, they discover that it contains too many
1:32 unacceptable contradictions, too much unacceptable nonsense.
1:38 And this shocks them and causes the disillusionment.
1:43 A very good example is in the market today, in the bookstores.
1:48 We find a book by Carl Sagan called "Contact", and on page 30 of this book, we find a very
1:56 good example of the contradictions, the unacceptable contradictions in the Bible.
2:02 We see here that in the Gospel of Matthew, there are 28
2:09 generations between David and Jesus. But in the Gospel of Luke, we see that the
2:17 number of generations from David to Jesus is 43. Now, how could this be the
2:23 word of God? Does God know how many generations are between David and Jesus?
2:30 The names in Matthew and in Luke are not even similar.
2:36 And this destroys the credibility of the Bible as the Word of God.
2:42 How can we explain these contradictions? This program will prove to you that the Bible
2:49 is in fact the Word of God. But these indefensible contradictions
2:55 are there because they were injected by human beings. Any contradiction, any
3:01 nonsense you see in the Bible, is a result of human interference, distortions
3:09 and injections by wicked people, or good intentioned people. So, I will prove to
3:16 you that the vast majority of the Bible is Divine truth.
3:51 The biggest contradiction of all is the deification of Jesus Christ,
3:56 making him a god against his will, and against the teachings of the Bible even.
4:03 We read in Matthew 27:46
4:12 that "on the cross, toward mid-afternoon, Jesus cried out in a loud tone and the
4:23 Gospel of Matthew even write the Aramaic that Jesus supposedly uttered on the cross
4:29 "ELI ELI LAMA SABACHTHANI?" Which means
4:34 "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Now, this is not God speaking, saying "my
4:41 God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" This also casts doubt and creates a serious
4:49 contradiction concerning the doctrine that Jesus came here to die for our sins.
4:55 Because if this were true, then his crucifixion would be a fulfillment of
5:04 his purpose and he would have said on the cross "my God, my God, thank you for
5:09 fulfilling my mission." So, all these contradictions
5:15 create disillusionment in the minds of intelligent people. In this Bible here, we
5:23 find the theme at the beginning like this "the man who hears my word and has
5:33 faith in Him who sent me, possesses eternal life." So, this verse is telling us
5:40 that Jesus was sent to humanity by God, that Jesus is a messenger of God.
5:49 And when we go to the book of Revelation, the very first verse says the following
5:55 "This is the revelation God gave to Jesus Christ, that he might show his servants
6:02 what must happen very soon." This is the revelation God gave to Jesus Christ.
6:10 So, here we have God giving a message to Jesus Christ in order to deliver to the
6:16 world. Jesus could not possibly be God. Jesus is a messenger of God.
6:24 Many great Christians of course realized this serious contradiction, the deification of
6:32 Jesus against his will and studied it carefully and researched the
6:38 subject thoroughly. This book is written by Don Cupitt, a University Lecturer in
6:49 Divinity and Dean of Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
6:53 Michael Goulder, Staff Tutor in Theology in the Department of Extramural Studies at
7:01 Birmingham University. John Hick, who is H. G. Wood Professor of Theology

7:39 And the final author here is Frances Young, Lecturer in New Testament Studies
7:46 at Birmingham University. And the essence or the summary of the book is found on the
7:56 back where it says "for many people, the incarnation of God in Jesus Christ
8:03 is the essence of Christianity." Here, a group of distinguished theologians
8:08 and biblical scholars asked whether the idea of the incarnation is essential to
8:14 Christianity and they questioned the whole development of the doctrine.
8:20 Their thesis is that Jesus was as he is described presented in Acts 2:21
8:29 "a man approved by God" for a special road within the divine purpose
8:37 and the later conception of him as God incarnate, the second person of the Holy
8:44 Trinity living a human life is a mythological or poetic way of expressing
8:50 his significance for us. This reinterpretation of the doctrine of the
8:55 incarnation has been criticized as sensational and destructive, but the
9:01 authors declare a constructive purpose. They have examined the evidence from the
9:07 New Testament onward with care and fairness and have asked their questions
9:14 because they are concerned with the consequences of their findings for a
9:19 full and living Christian faith for today. Their work is something that no
9:25 thinking Christian can ignore.
9:29 I assure you that we do not have enough time to give examples of the
9:35 contradictions and nonsense that is found throughout the Bible, unfortunately.
9:42 But you heard me state earlier that the Bible is in fact the Word of God, the
9:48 infallible Word of God. And here I am talking about the original unaltered
9:55 Bible in the original language. That was the Word of God.
10:03 The contradiction and the nonsense have been injected into the
10:07 Bible by people who deliberately or with good intentions actually distorted the
10:15 words of God and created doctrines that are not in the Bible. However, the Bible
10:23 as printed today, 90% of it is Divine truth. Unfortunately, the human race has
10:32 been duped into following the 10% of contradictions and false doctrines
10:39 injected by humans into the Bible. The Bible, being the Word of God, must be
10:49 corrected and God sees to it that all these contradiction and nonsense are exposed.
11:16 The biggest problem that these contradictions and nonsense create is
11:23 that millions of people throw the baby with the bathwater. Because of these
11:30 contradictions and false doctrines that have been injected in the Bible and the
11:35 nonsense that the intelligent people cannot accept, these things
11:40 unfortunately drive millions of people away from God and from the Word of God.
11:47 But we must be alerted that the Bible contains the truth from God. For example,
11:54 the first commandment in the Old Testament and in the New Testament which
11:59 is called the greatest commandment is to worship God alone, the Creator of the
12:06 universes, the Creator who created you and me and Jesus Christ and Muhammad and Mary.
12:13 It is the false doctrines that created
12:15 the Trinity and the deification of Jesus Christ against his will and distorted
12:22 the Bible. Ironically, the distortions and the nonsense and the false doctrines
12:28 constitute a minute part of the Bible. But unfortunately, millions upon millions of
12:36 people follow these minute contradictions and small false doctrines and they leave
12:43 the majority of the truth. They ignore, for example, the fact that the Bible
12:49 clearly states that Jesus is not God. Millions of people ignore the clear
12:55 statements throughout the Bible that Jesus is not God and they insist on the
13:00 defection of Jesus against his will. And in this way, they are being enemies of
13:06 Jesus Christ as he himself says in Matthew 7:23
13:13 "Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’" [Matthew 7:23]
13:28 Of course, God did something about the contradictions, the falsehood, the
13:33 nonsense that have been injected into His word, the Bible. And what God did was
13:40 to send a final edition of the scripture. This final edition is mathematically
13:47 composed beyond human ability, as I will explain to you. When you examine this
13:54 final message from God to you, you will be sure that every letter, every word is
14:00 from God. You will be absolutely positive that there is no human interference in
14:06 it and you will see which truth in the Bible is confirmed by this final segment
14:13 of the scripture and you will see that the contradiction and the false
14:18 doctrines are exposed. As such, you will recognize which is the
14:23 truth from God and which is the falsehood from human beings, human
14:28 interference into the Bible. So, this is what God did to clear the confusion, to
14:36 settle the controversies, and to establish the truth in His Bible.
15:35 This final segment of God's message to the world settles once and for all the
15:42 subject of the crucifixion of Jesus. And God tells us he was an eyewitness there, remember?
15:49 God tells us that the person of Jesus
15:52 Christ, that is the soul, left his body, was raised to God before his body was
16:00 put on the cross. So, the people who were torturing Jesus' body and crucifying it
16:07 were not dealing with Jesus Christ at all. Jesus was gone already. He was raised
16:13 like anyone who dies. The soul was raised, returned to God, and the body was
16:19 tortured and put on the cross. And the heart was beating and the lungs were
16:23 breathing, but the person was not there. Ironically, God gives us today a good
16:30 example of a person whose soul has departed but his body is living with us
16:36 and his heart is beating and his lungs are breathing, he's eating and he smiles
16:40 and everything, but his soul departed. And I am talking about one of the people who
16:47 received an artificial heart, Bill Schroeder. About a month after his
16:52 operation, he was having dinner with his wife and we are told he had a stroke.
16:58 In my opinion, Bill Schroeder left. The person is gone. And now his body is walking with
17:05 an artificial heart and his lungs are breathing but the person is not here. He
17:10 does not recognize the time or the people around him ever since that moment.
17:17 And this is exactly what happened regarding the crucifixion of Jesus, as
17:21 told in God's final message that is proven by mathematical code.
17:52 So, let me summarize for you what this final message from God to the world does.
18:00 First of all, it exposes the contradiction and the
18:07 nonsense that have been injected in the Bible.
18:11 The second thing, it confirms the Divine truths that are found in the Bible, the
18:21 majority of the Bible is Divine truth.
18:25 The third function of this final message from God to the world is to settle the
18:32 great controversies, like the deification of Jesus, the
18:39 sonship, the claimed sonship of Jesus to God.
18:44 The the fourth function of this final
18:51 segment of God's Scripture is to confirm all previous miracles, the unusual
18:58 happenings that cannot, that may be unbelievable, like the parting of the Red
19:03 Sea, like the fact that Jesus revived the dead, and created birds from clay by God's
19:11 leave. All these things are hard to believe. So, this final segment of God's Scripture
19:19 being mathematically composed and containing this physical evidence that
19:24 it is from God confirms those unusual happenings that we call miracles.
19:31 Since every letter, every word in this final segment of God's scripture is
19:37 mathematically composed beyond human ability, when you read a statement saying
19:42 "Moses parted the Red Sea," this statement becomes proven by physical evidence. When
19:51 you read in this message that Jesus revived the dead, which is something
19:56 unbelievable, normally, when you read that and you know that it is a miracle...
20:03 miracle by definition is an unusual happening. So, when you read the statement
20:09 Jesus revived the dead, and you know that every letter, every word is
20:14 mathematically composed beyond the human ability, then this gives you
20:19 physical evidence that the statement "Jesus revived the dead" is a proven fact.
20:27 Unusual as it may be, it is God's miracle that Jesus performed. So, these are the
20:36 four functions of God's final scripture to the world. Expose the contradiction
20:44 and nonsense and remove it from the Bible.
20:48 Confirm the Divine truths that are contained in the Bible. Settle the
20:55 controversies like the virgin birth of Jesus and the crucifixion of his body
21:01 after his soul has departed. And the fourth function is to confirm
21:08 all previous miracles, the miracles of Moses and Jesus and the unusual
21:13 happenings that we see in the Bible and in the Quran.
