0:01 Alhamdulillah, wa ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah. This first khutbah will link up with the khutbahs that Din Mahmoud has been giving us and before I start I would like to draw your attention to something that you probably take for granted and that is
0:29 here is a mosque that advocates the worship of God alone. I know that God
0:36 sent Moses to preach La ilaha illa Allah as we know in Surah 21, and not to preach
0:42 the glorification of Moses. And God sent Jesus to preach the worship of God alone,
0:49 La ilaha illa Allah, and not to preach the glorification of Jesus. And God sent
0:55 Muhammad to preach the worship of God alone, and not to preach the
1:00 glorification of Muhammad or anyone else, just worshipping God alone. In this mosque we
1:07 advocate the worship of God alone, and we follow the Quran to the letter. We came
1:14 to call this mosque the University of God, because it is the most important
1:19 education, and we have been very fortunate in seeing the truth of the
1:23 Quran and sticking to every letter of it. The University of God, the most important
1:31 education, lacked official professorship. So you can see from God's vantage point
1:40 he said, "Well, these people are advocating the worship of me alone, God alone, and
1:46 they need a professor. So let's send them a professor." So God appoints a couple of
1:51 angels to go and hunt for the best professor on earth. And he gets us not
1:57 only a professor, but a dean of the Islamic Institute in the Philippines.
2:04 Now he doesn't know why he is here in Tucson.
2:13 All he knows is, he sat down in Tucson, he got stuck to the Masjid
2:17 and he's teaching us, bless his heart, and he's been teaching us about Adam and Eve
2:24 and the sin of Adam and Eve. And we've been enjoying his teaching, so we have an
2:30 official, not just any professor, the dean himself. So an official school, so we
2:38 don't lack officials. What Din Mahmoud has been teaching us the last few khutbahs
2:45 was about the sin of Adam and Eve. What was the sin of Adam and Eve? They
2:50 ate from the tree, that's what they did. And because they ate from the tree, they
2:57 do not qualify to continue in Jannah, in heaven, paradise, the kingdom of God.
3:02 Because they ate from the tree, they committed one sin. What does this teach
3:09 us? What do we learn from this important lesson? We learn that you cannot go to
3:14 Jannah with one sin. If you have one sin in your record, you do not qualify to go to Jannah.
3:23 Sounds difficult, but for the people who worship God alone, it is not difficult at all, because
3:28 there are two ways of wiping out the sins from your record. And this means nobody will
3:34 see them, you will not see them in the record, if you fulfill these two requirements. But
3:40 the thing we must learn from Din Mahmoud's lessons in the past, that Adam's and Eve's
3:47 sin is they ate from the tree, they were kicked out, because they committed one sin.
3:52 Therefore we learn from this that we cannot go to heaven with one sin on our record, not
3:58 one.
4:03 If you commit one sin and you have it in your record, then you die, you cannot go to heaven.
4:09 You must be absolutely sinless. Because when Adam and Eve ate from the tree, they
4:15 didn't commit murder, they ate from the tree. That's all they did. God told them you go
4:20 in heaven and eat from anything you want but not this one tree. They ate from the
4:27 tree and they were kicked out. And this is exactly what we're doing here on
4:31 this earth. We are here to be tested and to end this life without a single sin in
4:44 your record, otherwise you do not qualify to join the Kingdom of God, you do not
4:48 qualify to enter Jannah. Now how do we, what are the ways of erasing sin from
4:57 your record? This is one thing you must remember, you must never forget, that our goal is to end
5:04 this life without a single sin.
5:09 How can we do that?
5:11 The first method of erasing sin is tawbah, repentance.
5:15 That's one thing.
5:18 You turn to God and you say, I'm sorry I made a mistake, I will never do it again, I pledge,
5:22 I will never do it again, I repent.
5:24 repent, I'm sorry, I apologize, all the words of apology that you can muster, and you
5:33 pledge solemnly that you will not do it again, that's one way. What if your
5:39 repentance is not accepted? There comes the second way, the second way is to pay for it.
5:46 The first way to erase sins is Tawbah, repentance, the second way is to pay for
5:51 them here in this world, and they are very expensive, I'm telling you. I would
6:01 like to put a dollar value on the sins, and how you pay for them here in this
6:07 world. Now as a believer you will pay in material things, thank God, you don't pay
6:12 with your arm or your leg, just look around this mosque, you don't see anyone with one arm or one leg,
6:17 Alhamdulillah. You have to say Alhamdulillah every time. But, you will, when I put
6:24 material values on it, it seems like the punishment is out of proportion for the
6:30 sin. But you have to pay for it, unless you want it on your record. If you
6:35 have one sin on your record, you cannot go to Jannah.
6:47 People go and commit adultery, and they think it's a simple matter, when marriage is really
6:58 a simple matter, if you have a relationship with another person, you might as well want
7:02 to suggest marriage.
7:04 Very simply, two witnesses, you call Allah, you declare that you're married, but if you
7:11 fall into adultery, my dollar value on it is $10,000. You have to pay, in misery or
7:22 if you don't have the $10,000 it will be a problem. The payment for sins seems to be
7:29 out of proportion in this world, but really it isn't, it's a tremendous mercy.
7:33 So the believers are the only people who enjoy certain problems in this world
7:39 because they know they are paying for, and wiping out certain sins. The
7:44 believer does not get away with sins in this world, he has to pay for them. The
7:51 disbeliever doesn't either, except with the disbeliever the punishment continues
7:55 in the Hereafter. With the disbeliever, the punishment also comes in this world,
8:00 but he or she cannot make the connection. He will appear to
8:05 get away with sin. And then after years, months, after a time where the
8:11 person cannot connect the punishment to the sin, bang! They get hit. So the two
8:20 ways to erase sins are repentance and paying for them. These are the only two ways.
8:32 There's one sin, not sin, it's not even a sin, there's one offense that cannot be
8:38 forgiven. The only unforgivable offense, I will let you open the Quran, now reach
8:43 for your Quran, and get Surah 39 verse 53, no excuse me, I made a mistake, 4, 48, not even
8:53 4, 17. 4, 17 is page 53. Alright, this is the order God wants us to see. This is not
9:08 the one that we meant to see, but it deals with repentance. Page 53, verse 17 says,
9:17 Repentance is accepted by God from those who fall in sin due to ignorance
9:24 then repent immediately. God redeems these and God is Knower, Wise. So this is
9:32 how repentance is accepted. Let's go on. But repentance is not acceptable
9:36 from those who continue to commit sins until death comes to them then say now I
9:42 repent. Nor is it acceptable from those who die as disbelievers. We have prepared
9:48 for them a painful retribution. So repentance, there are conditions for
9:52 accepting Tawbah, for accepting repentance. That you fall in sin due to ignorance.
9:57 Let's say you don't know that wine is haram. And you go drink wine, then you
10:02 find out in Quran that wine, liquor, alcohol is haram. Then you repent. And you
10:09 pledge you'll never do it again, you made a mistake, you'll never do it again, then your
10:13 repentance is accepted. But if you know that wine, liquor, whiskey, marijuana, or any of
10:19 those is haram, and you go deliberately and you do it, you cannot repent from that, you
10:22 have to pay. And the price is very high, either here or there. If you know that
10:29 adultery is haram, and you go commit it, you cannot repent from that, there's no
10:34 repentance there, you have to pay. And the pay is very expensive, ten thousand dollars,
10:39 you know the prostitutes are $50, $100. But the price that you pay according to
10:47 God's law is, I put a figure on it, just roughly, $10,000. In misery or problems or
10:55 whatever. So this is the condition for repentance. You can repent only if you
11:02 fall into sin due to ignorance and then repent immediately. You can't linger. In
11:08 the right way you say, I'm sorry God, I made a mistake.
11:12 These are the conditions for repentance.
11:16 Also, let's go to 39:53.
11:21 Because when I say you cannot go to heaven with one sin,
11:24 it sounds terrible, doesn't it?
11:27 Not one sin, because Adam and Eve ate from the tree, committed one sin.
11:31 39:53.
11:40 page 319, page 319, verse number is 65, no, that's not the one, 53, excuse me, it's on
11:51 the same page anyway, 53, it says, "Say: 'O my servants who have transgressed against themselves, never
11:59 despair of God's mercy.' God forgives all sins, for He is the Forgiver, the Most Merciful."
12:16 All sins. God forgives all sins. Moses committed murder. He was forgiven.
12:23 If you remember the Quran, Moses immediately turned to God and said, "This is the work of the devil,
12:28 please God forgive me." He repented immediately, didn't he? And he didn't
12:32 intend to kill the man either. But he was forgiven right there in the same prayer.
12:38 The same verse of the Quran. So God forgives all sins. The instruction here
12:44 for us is never to despair from God's mercy. There is one unforgivable offense.
12:50 Now that's the one in 4:48. Let's go to 4:48.
13:07 Down at the bottom of the page, it says idol worship, the only unforgivable offense.
13:13 God never forgives the idolization of anything besides Him, and He forgives all
13:18 lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who sets up any idol besides God
13:25 has forged a gross offense. Therefore the only unforgivable offense is idol
13:30 worship. And this is why we are very careful in this masjid not to idolize
13:34 anyone, not Mary, not Jesus, not Muhammad, not Moses, not any saint, not anyone, not
13:39 anything. Our motto is God alone. And the criterion is in the Quran.
13:53 When you talk about God alone, they don't like it, that's the sign, but we love it.
13:58 We talk about God alone, because idol worship is the only unforgivable offense.
14:13 Let's go in the same, in the same surah, verse 116, 116, this is page 63, again at
14:26 the bottom of the page, it says, God does not forgive the idolization of anything
14:30 besides Him, and He forgives all lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone
14:36 who idolizes any idol besides God has gone far astray. So now we know that
14:43 there's only one unforgivable offense and that is idol worship, to idolize
14:48 anyone or anything. It's just the one that is not forgiven. Because the whole idea of
14:53 creating us in this world is to worship God alone. And this is why we are told
15:00 throughout the Quran, that the prophets have no power to benefit you or harm you, have
15:05 no power to benefit themselves or harm themselves. Why is God saying that? Why?
15:11 Because the people have a tendency to idolize their leaders, their saints, their
15:15 prophets. Christians idolize Jesus, the Muslims idolize Muhammad, the Shia idolize
15:22 the Imams. It's a plague, it's a plague that Satan set up for the Jews, the Christians,
15:31 and the Muslims, and people fall in it. And we find it reflected in the Quran, a statement of fact.
15:36 وَمَا يُؤْمِنُ أَكْثَرُهُم بِاللَّهِ إِلَّا وَهُم مُّشْرِكُونَ
15:38 The majority of believers fall into idol worship.
15:44 وَمَا أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
15:46 The majority of people will not believe to start with, and the majority of the minority will fall
15:50 into idol worship. This is why you must be absolutely positive and careful that you
15:54 are idolizing no one. That you are worshiping Allah alone. That you're following the
15:59 Quran alone. The words of Allah alone. You don't accept any instructions from anyone
16:06 because God is the wisest.
16:13 So with this in mind, we know that all sins are forgivable. The only unforgivable offense
16:22 is idol worship. And we know that we cannot go to heaven with one sin, we must erase all
16:32 sins. When we die we mustn't have one sin in our record, otherwise you don't go to heaven.
16:41 We are here in this world to prepare for entering heaven, that's what we want, the
16:45 real life, the eternal life. So this life is zero. So in order to qualify, you have to
16:54 erase all the sins. You can erase by tawbah, repentance, and by paying for them.
17:05 Therefore I propose that we go out of these doors
17:09 absolutely sinless. We're going to walk out of these doors without a single sin
17:13 on our record, because we're going to repent right now.
17:16 We're going to turn to God and we're going to declare tawbah, we're going to pledge that we will never
17:21 break God's law, that we will follow His commandments as stated here, and that we
17:29 will never offend God in any way. Idol worship is out of the question. We did
17:37 that a long time ago. But we're going to turn to God and sincerely pledge we're
17:42 going to repent of all the past sins and offenses. We're going to say that we
17:48 are sorry that we fell into those mistakes. We will apologize and we will pledge, this is
17:55 most important, that we will never again commit a sin. You have to mean it.
18:03 You may fall in sin again, which you will, but God says in the Quran that He loves,
18:07 إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِينَ
18:09 Those who continuously repent. He didn't say إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ التَّائِبِينَ
18:12 He said التَّوَّابِينَ because you continuously repent, you have to repent every day.
18:16 But as far as we're concerned at this moment, we're going to walk out of these doors absolutely
18:21 sinless. So turn to God and repent, do dua to Allah. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.
18:55 When you repent, you wipe out all the sins in your record, and you qualify, if you die right
19:04 now at this moment, you're going to heaven straight, because you're going to have no sin.
19:11 and remember the conditions for repentance in the future when you reach
19:16 for a cup of whiskey or wine or something you know it is wrong and you
19:21 know you're gonna pay for it dearly. It's very expensive. I remember one time I was
19:28 in Libya at the time and I was buying a donut from this fellow and he had a bottle of
19:35 whiskey next to him, he was a cashier, and he was drinking away, and I said, "You know
19:40 this is very expensive." He said, "Yeah, I paid a few pounds for this." I said, "No, that's not
19:45 what I mean. This is going to cost you a lot." Because it's very expensive, you're breaking
19:50 God's law. As far as Adam and Eve are concerned, it cost them heaven. Heaven is God's grace.
19:59 You get anything you want. God says you get anything you wish, and He has more.
20:05 He has more than you wish. Because God has things that we cannot even imagine in order to wish.
20:11 You know, how can you wish for something you cannot imagine? Pleasures and joy that you cannot imagine.
20:19 God says, I have more than what you wish for.
20:30 And now that you are sinless, try to maintain this condition.
20:36 If you're about to commit a sin, be prepared to pay for it, dearly, expensively.
20:46 You know what is worse with sins, is if they really become too much, then there's a sheath
20:55 that builds up with every sin, and if there's too much of that around you, people cannot
21:00 penetrate that sheath. But never despair from God's mercy. You must repent
21:10 immediately, whether you know it or not. If you fall in sin knowingly or unknowingly,
21:14 repent anyway, immediately, and be prepared for the price. And you pay the
21:20 price happily. Any time God says you shall not, you shall not. No matter how
21:30 simple it seems. The second khutbah is about the importance of the Arabic
21:38 language. This is the second khutbah. Because we started the Arabic language
21:43 lessons recently, and I'm going to summarize the whole khutbah in one word.
21:50 Let me make it two words. Not important at all. That's four words.
21:56 Not important at all. Arabic is not important at all.
21:59 Because we learn from Surah 41. Let's look at 41:44.
22:05 Most of you are familiar with this.
22:14 41:44 is in page 332.
22:23 It says, had we made it a non-Arabic Quran, they would have said, why did it come down in that language?
22:30 Whether it is non-Arabic or Arabic, say, for those who believe, it is a beacon and a healing, regardless of their language.
22:38 As for those who do not believe, they will be deaf and blind to it, as if they are being called from afar.
22:44 So language is absolutely immaterial. If you're a believer, you're a sincere Muslim,
22:49 then God will put everything in your heart, the whole Quran in your heart.
22:54 I've seen people quote the Quran without ever reading it, because they're sincere Muslims.
22:59 They haven't read it all yet, they're working on it.
23:02 At the same time, if you're a professor of Arabic linguistics at the Mecca University or whatever,
23:10 and you are not a sincere believer, you cannot get one Arabic word from the Quran,
23:14 even though you are a professor of Arabic language.
23:18 Because God says, as for those who do not believe, they will be blind to it.
23:23 You cannot get one word out of it.
23:26 At the same time, a Japanese, a French, a Swede,
23:29 or one who does not know one letter in the Arabic language,
23:32 God will put the Quran in his heart.
23:35 Otherwise it will not be fair, because the Quran is for the whole world,
23:38 for everybody, and it will not be fair to restrict it to those who can read and write
23:43 Arabic. As you see from this verse, the title of the surah is Fussilat, elucidating.
23:49 God made the Quran available to every believer, and also the Quran is very
23:54 special, the Quran is never available to those who are not believers.
23:59 But the Arabic, the Arabic helps, just like mathematics or physics or chemistry, it helps.
24:10 And this is why we have the Arabic lessons.
24:15 I'm going to give you one example of how the Arabic helps. I wrote it
24:20 out there. Because the Muslim Ummah is trapped in a satanic plot, where they do not believe God when he says that the Quran is complete and
24:30 perfect. They have to go to other sources.
24:33 They have five sources of Sharia. They have the Quran, the Hadith,
24:38 the Ijma', unanimity, Qiyas, that is analogy, and all kinds of other sources.
24:44 And God says if you go to any other source besides Quran, you are
24:49 setting up a god beside God.
24:54 I'm going to read the verse for you, it happens to be verse 19 of Surah 6.
25:08 So the people set up other sources beside Quran, other gods beside God, against the will of God and the will of the Prophet.
25:17 And they think that they are guided.
25:22 One perfect example of the Arabic language is this verse here.
25:26 It says, it's Surah 17, verse 45. It says,
25:30 when you read the Quran, we place between you and those who do not believe in the
25:33 Hereafter an invisible barrier. And we put shields on their hearts to prevent
25:41 them from understanding Quran and deafness in their ears. And when you
25:45 mention your Lord, when you preach your Lord in the Quran alone, God put the word
25:52 alone after Quran. They turn away, they run. They don't like it. They run. And we have seen
25:59 this, you have seen people who will come here and you tell them the Quran alone and they
26:02 run. They can't stand it. Just like the Quran says,
26:05 Now, because of the general trap that the Muslim Ummah fell in,
26:13 they refused to translate this the way it is. They say when you preach your Lord
26:18 alone in the Quran, you just pick up any translation of the Quran, and you'll find
26:25 that they move the word وَحْدَهُ after your Lord. And this is why in our translation
26:30 we put وَحْدَهُ after the Quran, because God put it after the Quran in Arabic.
26:37 This sentence would have been perfectly, perfectly perfect if you say
26:42 وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ وَحْدَهُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ
26:46 But God deliberately put the word وَحْدَهُ after al-Qur'an. So if you know Arabic, it will help you
26:55 distinguish and understand that the majority of people are plagued with idol worship.
27:00 وَمَا يُؤْمِنُ أَكْثَرُهُم بِاللَّهِ إِلَّا وَهُم مُّشْرِكُونَ
27:03 And they are plagued to the extent that they refuse to believe the Quran.
27:08 They refuse to translate the truth of the Quran.
27:12 They cannot stand when you say the Quran alone.
27:15 God is not enough for them.
27:17 They have to have Hadith and Sunnah and Qiyas and Ijma and all these other sources
27:23 that were invented centuries after the Prophet, including the hadiths in Syria.
27:31 So this is an example of the importance of the Arabic language.
27:35 And we have here the expression
27:37 الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ
27:39 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter.
27:41 Let us look at them consistently in the Quran.
27:45 We find first of all, Surah 16, verse 22.
27:52 16:22. 16:22 says, your God is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter,
28:09 their hearts are denying, and they are arrogant. Your God is one God, but
28:20 those who do not believe in the Hereafter will set up other gods beside
28:23 God. That's what it means. You see, you people are fortunate, most of you were
28:30 born in a non-Muslim house, and they will get double the reward. This will be
28:38 another khutbah. You get twice as much as me, the person who grew up in a Muslim
28:44 house. The Quran says that those who grew up in a non-Muslim house and they became
28:50 Muslim and accepted the Quran as their book, they get double the reward. So I grew up
28:56 in a Muslim house, my parents said if you are a good person you have to be a
28:59 Muslim, you must believe in God, you must be a Muslim, you must believe in God, and so
29:04 so forth. So, I grew up saying, I'm a Muslim, I believe in God, I'm a Muslim, I
29:08 believe in God, you know, because my parents taught me so.
29:27 They talk about the Hereafter, that they will be resurrected after death, but they really don't believe it; they just say it
29:33 because their parents taught them to say that. So those who do not believe in the
29:39 Hereafter, their hearts are in denial. How do we distinguish? This is the verse that I
29:46 wanted to share next, that those who do not believe in the Hereafter, how will
29:50 God show them on the Day of Judgment that their hearts were
29:53 in denial? By this criterion here, when you tell them the Quran alone they run. This
29:59 is the criterion, this is the sign that will show them on the Day of Judgment that
30:05 they were saying with their mouth, I am a Muslim, la ilaha illallah, but their hearts
30:10 inside were denying it, they didn't know it.
30:13 So this is the sign.
30:16 Another verse about those who do not believe in the Hereafter is in surah 6, verse 112.
30:33 6:112 shows us the hadith and sunnah test, where people do not believe God when He says the
30:40 Quran is complete and perfect.
30:42 They don't believe that, because their hearts inside are denying.
30:53 So when you read 112 it says, And thus we have appointed for every prophet enemies
30:58 from among the human devils and jinn devils, who invent and narrate to each other fancy
31:03 words in order to deceive.
31:06 Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it.
31:09 So you shall disregard them and their inventions. Go on to 113, this is God's way, in order
31:17 that the minds of those who do not really believe in the Hereafter, see, it's the same
31:21 expression, it's the same expression, because the heart and
31:27 sight are denied. And we see that, those who do not believe in the Hereafter,
31:34 consistently, they will run away from the Quran alone, they will be attracted to
31:39 the fabrications against the Prophet that they call hadith and sunnah, and this will
31:44 show them on the Day of Judgment that their hearts were denied, that they were not satisfied
31:48 with the word of God alone.
31:51 alone.
31:58 39:45.
32:05 39:45 is the great criterion that tells you if you, or anyone you are speaking with, talking
32:12 to, is really a believer or a false believer.
32:16 It says, when God alone is advocated, the hearts of those who do not believe in the
32:21 Hereafter shrink with aversion, but when idols are mentioned besides Him, they rejoice, they
32:28 become happy.
32:29 When you speak about God alone, they don't like it.
32:33 وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ اشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ الَّذِينَ
32:35 لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ
32:36 Again, those who do not believe in the Hereafter, the same expression, they don't like it.
32:41 You have to mention besides God Mary or Jesus or Muhammad or Ali or somebody.
32:46 So, you cannot speak about God alone to them; they will not be happy. But
32:51 when you mention someone else, they'll be happy. So this is a sign that they do not
32:55 believe in the Hereafter. That's the sign, the great criterion for you, me, anyone you
33:07 talk to, and this is why I have it at the beginning of the translation, because it
33:15 is the great criterion, it tells you exactly if your heart is denying or not, if you are a
33:19 Muslim or you're deceiving yourself, you tell yourself, "I'm a Muslim, I'm a Muslim,"
33:22 when you really are not. These are the signs.
33:32 Finally, let's look up the same surah 39, verse 65.
33:46 Prophet Muhammad is our example, and his example is to uphold the Quran, the whole Quran,
33:53 nothing but the Quran. And here is a statement directed to the Prophet, it says,
34:02 "It has been revealed to you, Muhammad, and to those before you, that if you ever fall
34:07 into idol worship, all your works will be nullified and you will be a loser."
34:13 After all the work he did, after all the suffering he went through, after being
34:18 banished from his hometown,
34:23 if he ever fell into idol worship, all his works would have been nullified.
34:26 It doesn't matter what a nice guy you are.
34:29 It doesn't matter how nice you are, how honest,
34:32 and truthful,
34:34 and beloved,
34:35 and benevolent, and charitable.
34:37 It doesn't matter. If you idolize anyone or anything,
34:41 all your work is in vain.
34:43 Because we exist in this world to worship God alone.
34:47 This is the whole idea.
34:49 Because Satan wanted to be a god with God.
34:52 So God created us to show Satan and to show the angels that we will worship God without
34:57 putting anything beside Him.
34:59 If we put Muhammad next to God, or Jesus next to God, or Mary next to God, then
35:03 we'll prove Satan's point.
35:06 We prove that God needs a partner, God needs Muhammad in order to be worshipped, or God
35:11 needs Jesus to be worshipped, or God needs Moses, or Mary, or something to be worshipped.
35:16 We are here to prove that God can be worshipped alone, without anything with Him.
35:21 This is the whole idea of the Quran.
35:23 This is why it is the only unforgivable sin.
35:28 Another final statement is in another verse, in Surah 40.
35:33 Verse 10, we're going to start with 10.
35:36 40, 10.
35:38 I'm going to close with this, I promise.
35:42 At the bottom of the page, page 321.
35:45 321, at the bottom, it says, 'Worship God alone.'
35:52 It says, "Those who disbelieve will be told, 'God's abhorrence
35:57 towards you is even greater than your own abhorrence towards yourselves, because you
36:02 were invited to believe but you chose to disbelieve.'"
36:07 Verse 11 says, they will say, "Our Lord, You have given us two deaths and two lives, and now we
36:12 confess our sins. Is there any way out?'" The answer in verse 12 says,
36:18 "This is because when God ALONE was advocated, you disbelieved, but when
36:24 partners were associated with Him, you believed. Therefore, God's judgment has been issued;
36:28 He is the Most High, the Great.'" So to give this subject, this verse is
36:34 very important. To give the verse its justice, we'll read it in Arabic.
36:53 [Arabic recitation of Quran 40:10-12]
37:16 The idea of someone paying for the sins of the world—that is a wrong concept about sin.
37:26 Let's listen to this question and answer; maybe we will all benefit from that.
37:33 Regarding the concept that we are all sinners: we do go through stages where we do not follow the commandments exactly.
37:43 But you can be sinless.
37:46 But hopefully, before you die, you reach a stage where you are absolutely sinless.
37:52 You don't have any sins from the past.
37:54 Alhamdulillah, if you regret them, you are sinless right now.
37:58 Now, it is in your hand to commit a sin or not, as of this moment.
38:04 Now, if you fall into sin due to ignorance, and then you repent, you know what to do.
38:11 But it is absolutely in your hand to follow the Quran exactly to the letter.
38:17 Does this make sense?
38:21 We do not have to be sinners.
38:24 It is not true that we are all sinners.
38:27 You can get rid of all your sins. And therefore, from that time on, you have a perfect life.
38:33 That's what God says. You have a perfect life, absolutely no problems.
38:38 No traffic tickets, no headache, no stomach ache, no sickness.
38:42 You're guaranteed, absolutely guaranteed, health, wealth, peace of mind, perfect happiness.
38:48 That's what God says in the Quran. Surah 24, verse 55.
38:53 And you better believe it, because God promises that.
38:57 Yeah?
38:58 It gets to the point where no one can benefit or harm you.
39:00 It's a very common belief, I think in Morocco, that there are things like the evil eye
39:05 and amulets.
39:06 Right.
39:06 That people can look at you in a certain way and cause you to be ill or something like
39:10 this.
39:11 I'm afraid of this.
39:12 This is not how it works.
39:13 Right.
39:14 If you are afraid of anything, someone points a gun to your head and you get scared.
39:18 You don't know how it works.
39:20 You shouldn't be. I mean, I'm giving you an extreme.
39:24 Because that gun will not work unless it is in accordance with God's will.
39:28 And if it is God's will to die at that moment, there is nothing anyone in the whole world can do about it.
39:32 Because the method and time of your death is already written down.
39:37 And you cannot die except with a personal decree from God. Personal decree.
39:43 It is a written decree. God must sign your death certificate.
39:49 Therefore, a person comes with a gun, can do nothing to you.
39:54 Because they have to have a signed certificate of your death from God, personally.
39:59 No one knows when you will die, no one. This is what the Quran says, the end of Sura 31.
40:04 Not even the angels know God's laws.
40:06 The authority comes from Allah.
40:07 SubhanAllah.
40:09 You had a question?
40:11 Yeah, you said earlier that
40:13 they would receive a double reward
40:15 if they were to convert to
40:17 Submission. And
40:19 it's stated before that
40:21 everybody has to stay in caste.
40:23 So I don't know
40:25 if there's any kind of contradiction
40:27 for them to get a double reward
40:28 if they're facing the same caste hurdles.
40:31 No, they have additional hurdles
40:33 that they have to move across.
40:34 Because their clerics told them Jesus is God, he's the son of God, the trinity, this kind of thing.
40:39 And they had to overcome this.
40:42 Besides, if God wants to be generous with them, there's nothing anyone can do.
40:46 And God says that if you grow up under difficult circumstances and you come to the Quran,
40:52 you will, you will receive double the reward.
40:55 So that's more guidance.
40:57 Yeah, that's more guidance.
40:59 But it doesn't mean anything.
41:01 Maybe it doesn't.
41:02 Maybe not.
41:07 The end, for example, the end of Surah Al-Baqarah, and they all quote the end of Surah Al-Baqarah.
41:13 I will give a quote on that topic.
41:15 That's all.
41:17 Congratulations.
41:18 Abdullah.
