0:03 Okay, I think we are at 2:196, verse 196. This is Christmas Eve and it seems like a lot of people are having a family reunion.
0:22 Do you want to come see me?
0:25 You're welcome.
0:27 Is there football in the future?
0:29 No.
0:30 It's about to start, isn't it?
0:32 It's about to start, isn't it?
0:33 It's about to start, isn't it?
0:34 Mary from New York.
0:52 Verse 2:196, Hajj and Umrah.
0:57 Here is a commandment. You shall complete the Hajj and Umrah for God.
1:06 If you are prevented, then offer a sacrifice, and do not shave your heads until your offering has reached its destination.
1:18 But if you are ill or suffering some head injury, then you may shave your head and expiate
1:25 by fasting or giving charity or sacrifice.
1:30 During the normal time of Hajj, you break the state of sanctity between Umrah and Hajj,
1:37 then expiate by offering a sacrifice.
1:53 Okay, all this sounds complicated, but it has to do with the Hajj rituals.
2:06 When you go for Hajj, you start out with Umrah.
2:14 There are two things you have to do.
2:16 Umrah and then the Hajj.
2:18 Umrah consists of putting on the unsewn clothes.
2:40 then you go around the Ka'bah seven times, then you run between Safa and Marwah.
2:57 So, if you decide to break the state of sanctity between Umrah
3:12 and Hajj, see, as soon as you enter into that state of sanctity, you don't do any vanity,
3:18 you don't make up your face, you don't cut your hair.
3:23 It's another form of making the body know its place.
3:31 You're telling your body, I'm not going to beautify you and make you look pretty or anything.
3:42 I'm just casting you off.
3:44 Women care, the men don't care.
3:46 You don't shave hair, you don't use perfume, you can shower, but maybe simply.
3:53 But you don't wear clothes that distinguish the rich from the poor.
3:58 You wear very simple clothes, and for the men it's just two pieces.
4:02 So in fact, there are people involved, and you cannot tell who is rich and who is poor.
4:08 And they all look the same, and they are all neighbors, and all that.
4:14 So, all the practices in this state, being the boss over your body,
4:21 come out the first thing you have is the charity.
4:28 So, let me go over this sentence, the verse now.
4:31 You shall complete the Hajj and the Umrah for God.
4:34 So, this is something you have to do, as soon as, whenever you can.
4:38 You plan on it, and when you can, God will make you able to go and do it.
4:46 Of course, the first person to announce that was Abraham, and this is in Surah 22,
4:55 I think it is verse 27, which is going to...
