0:04 LA ILLAHA ILLA ALLAH (There is no god but One God)

0:21 ALLHAMDULILLAH. WA ASHHADU AN LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH WAHDAHU LA SHARIKA LAH.

0:27 We praise God and we bear witness there is only One God.

0:33 God is doing everything.

0:37 And this is the conclusion that we must reach

0:41 if we are to be saved.

0:44 That God is doing everything is a quality of God.

0:49 If you don't know this quality, then you don't know God.

0:55 And this is why the Quran is full of those verses

0:58 talking about people who do believe in God

1:02 but they're going to Hell

1:04 because they do not know God as He really is.

1:07 In Sura 8, verse 17,

1:10 we're told that God...

1:13 There was the appearance of a battle

1:16 with a small handful of believers fighting a big huge army of disbelievers.

1:23 And the believers were busy running around and stabbing and throwing arrows and shooting, thinking they are fighting,

1:29 but the verse tells us that God is the One who's fighting; God is the One who did the killing and the throwing of the arrows.

1:37 God is doing everything.

1:39 We only do the decision to be with God or not.

1:43 And the whole design of this life is to effect a test for each one of us.

1:55 This whole life is a test,

1:57 nothing else.

1:59 And we read in Sura 51, verse 56 that God created this whole universe,

2:05 created us just to worship Him alone.

2:07 Anything else are just the means for provision,

2:11 the jobs, what you do to go to school to find work, develop your talents or whatever.

2:18 It's just an outside appearance to provide for you,

2:21 give you the dollars, the food, the roof over your head and so on.

2:26 But the main job, when you wake up in the morning, my main job today is to worship God Alone.

2:31 And to observe my duties towards God.

2:35 All those duties, of course, are designed for our own benefit to develop and grow our soul

2:40 through the prayers, the fasting and so on.

2:44 But the whole world is designed for a test

2:47 in that a person is required to pray before sunrise, for example

2:53 in order for his or her soul to grow and develop.

2:58 And some person may say "oh, the sun is rising too early

3:03 4 o'clock in the morning, you know, in July and August."

3:06 They complain.

3:08 "But the sunrise is at 4 o'clock, you know, I'm not gonna get up at 3:30 to do the morning prayer."

3:13 So, God says "ok. I'm gonna make it rise at 7."

3:18 And God designed the earth.

3:20 It's a little bit lopsided, so it will go up and down in front of the Sun

3:24 in this way creating the winter and the short day and the long day.

3:29 And God will say "ok. Now, the Sun is rising at 7 o'clock. Are you going to pray the morning prayer before sunrise?"

3:37 See, God designed the test this way.

3:40 And God nullifies the excuses of everybody

3:43 in order to see who is going to make it to the Highest Heaven

3:47 and that is the person who's gonna pray before sunrise no matter what time the Sunrise.

3:54 And also to assure the place of those who are going to the

3:58 lowest pit of Hell

4:00 because even when the sun rises at 7 o'clock, they will not pray the morning before sunrise.

4:06 So, you can see the range of the time of sunrise and how God did it to sift out the ranks.

4:15 The people who will pray when the sun rises at 6.

4:20 And people who will pray when it rises at 6:30.

4:23 And people who do the morning prayer when it rises at a quarter of seven.

4:26 So, there'll always be dropouts.

4:29 And there will be those who pray no matter what time the sun rises.

4:33 3 in the morning, they'll be up by 2:30

4:35 and they'll do the morning prayer and go back to sleep, but they will do it.

4:41 People will say "I'm gonna fast in Ramadan 16 hours? The day is 16 hours long

4:46 and I'm gonna eat no food, no water for 16 hours and it's so hot!"

4:50 God says "ok. I'm gonna cool it down for you. I'm gonna make it 7 hour."

4:55 And God does that.

4:57 So, you can see that the fasting days range from 7 hours, 9 hours

5:02 of cool day

5:04 to 16 hours of hot days.

5:08 And you can see the test going on

5:12 and you can see the dropouts.

5:14 Some people will fast even if the day is 20 hours in August.

5:18 And nobody dies anyway from that. It's good for you, takes down your blood pressure,

5:22 reduces your weight and all that.

5:25 And nobody dies if he or she fasts for two consecutive days.

5:30 But there are people who will fast even if the day is 20 hours long.

5:39 For the last 19 years,

5:41 we've been giving the Muslim world evidence

5:44 that they have deviated,

5:46 that we must adhere to the Quran Alone

5:49 and we've been showing them the verses in Quran.

5:54 So they said "well, who is this Rashad Khalifa? He's an ignorant person

6:00 He's never been to Azhar.

6:02 And he's duping the ignorant people who don't know anything about Islam."

6:07 They wrote this.

6:07 They published it. They lectured and so on.

6:10 He's a science man. He is not a religious man.

6:15 If you hear it from a scholar,

6:17 from Azhar,

6:18 then, you can you know, they wrote that Rashad is ignorant.

6:23 He doesn't have a religious degree.

6:26 He's not from the Azhar.

6:27 And he's deceiving the ignorant people.

6:29 And God said "ok, I'm gonna nullify,

6:32 like the long day, the sunrise at 7,

6:34 He said "ok, I'm gonna produce for you the best Azhar scholar.

6:39 And he's sitting right with us right now. He's not a usual Azhar scholar.

6:43 He is one in a long time that was the first of his class in the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior years.

6:53 He's not a common Azhar person.

6:57 He didn't have a connection.

6:59 A lot of people in the Azhar have connections with the dean or the president of the university and they pass and so on,

7:05 but there are special students who get this degrees and they graduate with the first honors, they call it.

7:12 And he's one of those, one of the unusual students.

7:17 And when he graduated the first of his class,

7:20 he was hired in the university

7:23 and he taught at the university

7:26 and he made his Ph.D. on the same subject that we preach here in this mosque

7:31 that the prophet will not intercede on your behalf on the day of judgement,

7:35 that the prophets are human beings who made mistakes.

7:37 And they gave him the Ph.D. with the highest degree ever in the Azhar.

7:42 So, he's not just...

7:42 God said "I'm gonna give you an Azhar man, not just an Azhar man, I'm gonna give you the best."

7:48 And so, so, he goes out and he teaches and he steals the students from all the other professors.

7:55 I mean, these are facts that are recorded now in the headlines of the front pages

8:00 that came out in the last month as he was in prison

8:04 and our powerful Fãtehah got him out, ALHAMDULILLAH (Praise be to God).

8:06 But he would go and teach in the senior class

8:13 and then he will go to teach the next period, will be in the sophomore class.

8:19 The students from the senior class will follow him to the sophomore class

8:22 and the professor of the senior class will complain,

8:25 "where are my kids? Where are the students?"

8:27 "Well, they followed Subhi Mansour to the Sophomore class."

8:30 So, he raised a lot of jealousy within the university

8:34 besides the fact that he was preaching exactly...

8:38 it's identical to what we've learned here

8:41 in this mosque and what we've been preaching.

8:43 And the enemies of Quran, the enemies of God went crazy

8:47 because God nullified their excuse.

8:49 He said "ok. You don't like Rashad Khalifa who's a chemist,

8:52 Here's an Azhar man, one of your own

8:54 and one of your best.

8:56 And he is preaching the same thing.

9:00 He discovered the truth."

9:01 And I don't know where did God hide him from Satan.

9:05 You know, because Satan monopolized all those Azhar people.

9:08 He escaped somehow. God protected him.

9:11 So, he was supposed to give the KHUTBA today, but he refused. He said "I wanna see your system first.

9:16 Then, I will give the KHUTBA."

9:18 Also, he wants to increase his mastership of the English language which he does very well.

9:25 You know, he really surprised me.

9:26 But we have now this newspaper saying

9:31 "how did he get the Ph.D. in this subject?!"

9:34 Now, they want to put his committee on trial.

9:38 "Why did they give him the Ph.D.? How did that happen?"

9:42 And these happen to be the leaders of the Sunna Institute.

9:46 I mean, the chairman of his Ph.D. committee is now the head of Sunna Institute in Cairo

9:50 And he says "how did I do that?!"

9:55 They just can't figure it out,

9:57 but he is a living proof of God's power.

10:01 They are saying "let's take the Ph.D. back from him."

10:05 You know, these things are unheard of. How can you take it back?

10:08 I mean, not only have they said "how did he get the Ph.D.?

10:12 How did he get the Ph.D. with this high degree, high honors, the highest honors?"

10:17 They call it the first honors

10:19 مرتبة الشرف الأولى in Arabic

10:22 The rank of the highest honor.

10:25 And it had all these things and they cut it down, by the way, you know but...

10:30 After cutting out whatever they wanted, they still, they still don't like it in the newspaper.

10:36 So, this shows you the power of God and shows how God nullifies the excuses of the people in order to effect the test.

10:47 For those who don't like the sun rising at 4 o'clock, God will make it rise at 7, gradually.

10:57 And for those who don't like fasting for 16 hours in a day,

11:00 God will make it 9 hours in a cool day.

11:04 TUBU ILLA ALLAH. Repent.

11:18 ALLHAMDULILLAH. WA ASHHADU AN LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH WAHDAHU LA SHARIKA LAH.

11:26 I know many of you are anxious to hear our report on our Canada trip.

11:33 One of the purposes of the KHUTBA on Friday is to study our affairs and see what is going on.

11:40 And Dr. Mansour and myself went to Canada on the weekend

11:46 and there were a number of miracles that happened.

11:51 First of all, somehow, I forgot that an Egyptian going to Canada needs a visa, an entry visa

12:00 and what is worse, an Egyptian who applies for a visa in any Canadian consulate,

12:10 they have one in Seattle,

12:11 there is a five day mandatory

12:14 mandatory five-day waiting period

12:17 because they telex Cairo and ask if this person is a terrorist or what.

12:22 And, as far as Egypt is concerned, he is the biggest terrorist in all Egypt, one could say

12:29 and his being here is actually a miracle because he is forbidden from travel.

12:34 There were people in the prison who were there for years

12:38 for religious reasons because they offended the person who was interviewing them or something.

12:45 And this is something that he did the first day.

12:48 On the first day, when they were interrogating him

12:51 the officer, or the lawyer, whoever it is, the district attorney

12:57 in the prison interviewing him and said

12:59 "I'm a Muslim, I don't pray

13:02 and I don't fast, but I'm going to Heaven.

13:04 Ain't I?"

13:05 He said "no, you're going to Hell."

13:09 He didn't mince words.

13:10 And he is out here.

13:13 There are stories of people who offended the interrogators inside and then never made it out.

13:18 They're still there, for years.

13:21 And we know them by name,

13:23 but he is out here.

13:26 We sent a few telegrams from around the world

13:30 to the president's office in Egypt

13:33 and we read Al-Fãtehah. This is a very powerful prayer, ALHAMDULILLAH.

13:37 So, for a variety of reasons, they let him out on his own recognizance with the stipulation that he's not to leave the country.

13:45 And now he's haunting them because we're are sending the new (Muslim) Perspective,

13:49 the title is "Al-Azhar disbelieves in Quran."

13:52 Now, they called him, they called him منکر السنة (rejector of Sunna) in Egypt or

13:59 something we really admit, the rejector of Sunna.

14:01 And you know, prisons affect a person's psych somehow and

14:10 he happened to leave the prison on a miserable day. The weather, it was rainy. There was mud.

14:17 Cairo was not prepared. Especially, where he lives is not prepared for rain

14:22 and there was a lot of mud there where you stepped in the mud and then you go, you leave your shoe in the mud.

14:31 put in front of you, put your foot in it

14:34 and then you leave your left shoe in the mud.

14:39 So, he caught himself talking aloud to himself saying

14:44 "ok منکر السنة or rejector of Sunna,

14:46 be careful, lest you slip down or something."

14:50 So, he was out talking to himself with this title that they gave him منکر السنة (rejector of Sunna)

14:54 Now, as of the next issue of the Perspective, we're gonna call the Azhar people: منکر القرآن

15:00 The rejectors of Quran.

15:07 And we are going to issue emergency issues of the Perspective every other week

15:12 and we're mailing them to them over there.

15:14 We're proud of our title "rejectors of Sunna" and we'll see how proud they are with their title as "rejectors of Quran."

15:22 Something that is supported by evidence

15:25 for example

15:26 an editorial, the official Azhar journal

15:30 wrote an editorial in January, the last issue

15:33 attacking him

15:34 and in that, they said that the Quran needs to be detailed.

15:40 I mean, there are about ten statements directly against Quran.

15:45 So, we're taking this statement

15:47 putting it, this is what the Azhar Ignoramuses say

15:52 and this is what God says

15:54 and we give the verses that say "the Quran is fully detailed."

15:56 And I'm going to do this for the rest of the year.

16:02 Ok. We went to a ...

16:03 So, this is, I just got diverted to the miracle of him leaving Cairo, leaving Egypt.

16:09 It is an absolute miracle.

16:11 As a matter of fact, an informer in his group found out that he was leaving

16:16 but without a definite date and he did something that cancelled that informer's information.

16:27 In any rate, we're glad that he's here.

16:30 So, we headed for Canada

16:32 and Ismail Barkat, most of you know him, he's a very hot-tempered, very loud, beautiful person,

16:39 we love him,

16:40 and he was supposed to meet us in Seattle.

16:43 And he swears he was there at 1:30

16:47 and we were there at 1:00 o'clock and we waited until 3:00 o'clock.

16:50 And according to his account and our account, we existed in the same place, but we never saw each other,

16:56 We never heard each other

16:57 as loud as he is. He said...

17:01 he said I even took the public address system and I called you,

17:06 we didn't hear a thing.

17:07 We didn't see him. We didn't hear him. He didn't see us

17:10 and there was nothing.

17:12 Anyway, so, we waited until the next day

17:15 when Raymond... no... Ismail went back to Seattle

17:19 and I had nothing to do, so I tried to smuggle Dr. Mansour into Canada.

17:23 It didn't work out.

17:27 I rented a car, went to the border and usually they let you pass, you know,

17:32 because the guy at the post said "where are you from?" I said Tucson, Arizona.

17:36 He said "can I see some IDs?"

17:38 I said "oh, oh, OK. So, we're gonna turn around..."

17:44 So, meantime, Ismail went back to Canada

17:46 and Raymond Catton went with us in the morning to the Canadian Consulate

17:52 where we found out that we have to have five-day mandatory waiting period for an Egyptian to get a visa.

17:59 However, the vice counsel, a lady, turned out to be from Raymond Catton's old country's village,

18:07 a small village, it's called Lancashire

18:10 in England, and they spoke the same language.

18:13 You know, this is how they knew each other.

18:16 "Good morning, (imitating the Lancashire dialect),"

18:21 and she said "good morning (imitating the response in the Lancashire dialect)"

18:24 and he said "oh, you're from Lancashire."

18:26 And she said "that's right."

18:30 She said "ok. Here's the visa."

18:33 Free.

18:35 I mean, if Ismail Barakat went with us, first we would have ended up in jail

18:41 because he's loud.

18:44 He will never go back to Vancouver without this man.

18:48 He's Dr. Mansour's best friend

18:53 And had they mentioned that you cannot have a visa to enter Canada,

19:00 I mean, Barakat would have destroyed the Consulate,

19:02 I'm telling you, we would have ended up... thank God we just didn't see him

19:06 and he didn't see us.

19:10 So, with all these delays,

19:13 we made it to the Friday prayer in Vancouver.

19:16 And we went immediately after, after the KHUTBA

19:21 and they just finished the KHUTBA and the prayer, so we sat with them

19:24 and they all cancelled going back to work

19:27 and we sat until 4 o'clock,

19:28 from about 2 o'clock to 4 o'clock.

19:32 And we got to talk to them and

19:35 we discussed a lot of things. We did exactly everything we wanted to do

19:40 and the Friday prayer.

19:41 And then we had meetings on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night

19:46 in three different places

19:48 about fifty or sixty people and everything was just fantastic.

19:52 The objectors of the past didn't even show up.

19:55 There were no more objections.

19:56 And what I carried to them is the new profound conclusion that we all must have... that "God is doing everything."

20:09 So, as you can tell, we'll be talking about these things for the next few weeks Insha Allah

20:18 and we may discuss more details tonight

20:20 and you will get a chance to greet Dr. Mansour.

20:24 We're glad, we're glad he's here.

20:27 And it is a tremendous victory.

20:33 So, it is time to quit.

20:35 AQEM AL-SALAT.

20:36 ALLAH-O AKBAR, ALLAH-O AKBAR.
