0:18 One God.

0:20 LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH (There in no god but One God)

0:33 All equal before God, all united in this place of prayer.

0:39 Each individual soul joined in community of worship.

0:44 One God.

0:46 LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH (There in no god but One God)

0:57 ALLAH-O AKBAR (God is great)

1:04 WA ASHHADU AN LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH, WAHDAHU LA SHAREEKA LAH.

1:07 Praise be to God and I bear witness that there's only One God. Allah.

1:17 Looks like the rain is delaying a number of people,

1:19 so, I'm gonna start with the less important subjects

1:22 and keep the important subjects to the second KUTHBA.

1:27 In this KUTHBA, I wanna talk about the subject for the Muslim Perspective that we will be preparing

1:32 IN SHAA ALLAH, in the next few days. One important subject is...

1:41 I don't know if it's a new idea,

1:43 but it's an idea called Universal Unity.

1:46 And I'm abbreviating it

1:48 U & U, Universal Unity through devotion to God alone.

1:55 The idea is that the Protestants are fighting the Catholics in Ireland.

2:01 The Jews are fighting the Muslims in the Middle East.

2:05 The Hindus are fighting the Sikhs in India.

2:08 The Sunnis and Shias are fighting each other in Iran and Iraq.

2:15 And there is one thing in common among all those people.

2:21 The Protestants, the Catholics, the Hindus, the Sikhs, the Muslims, the Sunnis, the Shias,

2:27 this one common bond is belief in God.

2:31 They all believe in God.

2:34 So, it dawned on me that if we rise above the human

2:37 factors.

2:38 If the human race rises above the human factors

2:44 such as Jesus, Mary, Muhammad, the saints and so on,

2:49 they will be united.

2:50 There'd be no reason to be different.

2:54 The reason the Sunnis are fighting the Shias is because they reverence different imams,

3:00 human factors.

3:03 The reason the Protestants are fighting the Catholics is

3:06 Martin Luther, a human factor.

3:09 The reason, the Mormons are Mormons is Joseph Smith and so on.

3:16 So, it is these human factors, Muhammad, Jesus, Mary, Joseph Smith

3:21 and so on that cause the differences.

3:25 If we focus on the one common linkage that is belief in God,

3:32 we will have One objective to love,

3:35 One objective to worship,

3:39 One and the same.

3:41 So, this is why I called it Universal Unity.

3:44 I finished a video program a couple of days ago.

3:49 I mean, the shooting of it

3:51 and be editing it in the next two weeks.

3:53 And IN SHAA ALLAH would be showing it in Washington DC and New York, Boston, Cincinnati,

4:00 San Francisco, Los Angeles, the major centers,

4:04 and Chicago.

4:06 We got Chicago also.

4:09 So, the program will emphasize these points of differences and the one point of unity.

4:18 And I will be asking them to get together with us in promoting Universal Unity.

4:26 A complete name is Universal Unity through Devotion to God Alone.

4:32 And by the way, we're going to change this sign out there.

4:39 While studying this subject,

4:42 I realized that you can submit to somebody while hating his guts.

4:47 So, submission is not really a good word.

4:50 Devotion is a positive word.

4:53 So, we're going to change the sign and make it, Happiness is Devotion to God Alone.

4:59 This is a product of this Universal Unity idea.

5:06 This is one subject,

5:08 and I'm gonna put this in the Muslim Perspective on the back page.

5:12 On the front page, I'm going to talk about Polygamy which is a very popular subject.

5:19 I had a called from New York, Shaheed Ahmad, most of you knew her.

5:22 And they're having a big problem with New York Muslims abusing the law,

5:28 God's law polygamy.

5:32 So, I want to start off by saying that we have laws,

5:36 Divine laws in the Quran.

5:37 Polygamy is one of them.

5:38 It is God's law.

5:39 It is allowed.

5:41 But I want to say that when we abuse God's law,

5:46 any of God's laws, the retribution is really not worth it.

5:50 The retribution is severe.

5:55 We can't cheat ourselves and justify things for ourselves.

6:00 But when we look at the subject of polygamy, our example

6:05 is the Prophet Muhammad.

6:09 Sometimes they accuse us that we do not follow the example of the prophet and this is a

6:12 lie.

6:13 But our example here, a perfect example, is Prophet Muhammad.

6:17 He had one wife until she died for 25 years.

6:22 He had one wife.

6:24 All his youth, from the age of 25 to 50,

6:30 he had only one wife.

6:31 He had all his children from her, except one.

6:35 And after Khadija died, he married widows of his friends who had children to give them

6:45 his name.

6:46 He had a couple of political marriages that were actually forced on him.

6:50 Abu Bakar told him "you have to marry my daughter.

6:52 You must marry my daughter."

6:54 So, he married Aisha.

6:56 And they lie, they say that he married Aisha when she was 9.

6:59 Well, even now when a girl is born in a family, they name her, her husband-to-be,

7:07 when she's still 9 hours old.

7:10 She's gonna marry, you know, some cousin.

7:14 So, this is happening now.

7:15 And this is what happened with Aisha.

7:18 But he did not marry her until she was a mature

7:20 woman.

7:21 That was a political marriage.

7:22 Another political marriage was his friend, Omar, who told him

7:26 "you've got to marry my daughter, Hafsa, also." So,

7:28 But his marriages, after Khadija died, were all to

7:33 alleviate sorrow.

7:35 So, here's an important criterion for polygamy is that you alleviate sorrow.

7:40 You do not create sorrow.

7:41 I'm gonna put this in the Perspective.

7:44 So, somebody who wants to use this law has to be very careful not to abuse it.

7:52 And he has to use this criterion.

7:55 "Am I creating sorrow or alleviating sorrow?"

8:00 "Will there be creation of pain or removal of pain?"

8:03 This is one thing.

8:05 "Am I driven by lust,

8:08 or am I driven by charitable feelings?"

8:13 We have... we are very special people. We are people who

8:16 decided to worship God alone and follow His laws.

8:20 And we have to be the harshest on ourselves.

8:24 So, I'm going to write this on the front page of the Muslim Perspective.

8:30 I think these are all the criteria, I could think of.

8:33 But I think, we don't need to say anymore, once we think of the example of

8:38 the Prophet,

8:39 especially that he was living in a society, where polygamy was a way of life.

8:46 Every man had 20, 30 wives.

8:48 200 wives depending on how rich he was.

8:50 There was a way of life in the society.

8:53 In this society, it is not a way of life.

8:56 It is even illegal according to the laws of this country.

9:01 But it is the law is being abused everywhere.

9:04 I hear examples from everywhere in the country by Muslims.

9:10 And they are paying dearly because abusing God's law.

9:16 When you become a Muslim, you know better.

9:18 When you know better, the responsibility is multiplied manifold

9:23 and the retribution is really severe,

9:25 it's not worth it.

9:28 TUBU ILLA ALLAH. Repent.

9:45 ALHAMDULILLAH, WA ASHHADU AN LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH, WAHDAHU LA SHAREEKA LAH.

9:54 The important subject, I want to talk about in this KUTHBA is, I was reading the Bible,

10:02 preparing this book about Jesus.

10:05 And in one place, Jesus tell the people "your problem is that you do not know God."

10:12 And this happens to be the problem right now.

10:19 People do not know God.

10:21 So, I'm going to review with you some scientific facts that you already know.

10:27 Because if we know God, we will understand why every page of the Quran says "God alone,

10:34 worship God alone."

10:36 And will understand the blasphemy of putting human

10:41 creatures anywhere near God.

10:48 We live in something called the solar system.

10:52 And our sun is 93,000,000 miles away.

10:57 93,000,000 miles away.

11:00 This is 93,000 times as much as from here to New York.

11:08 93,000 times, going to New York and coming back.

11:12 93,000 times.

11:14 That is how far the Sun is from us.

11:16 The light of the sun takes 4 minutes to reach us. That's the speed of light.

11:21 93,000,000 miles in 4 minutes.

11:25 The solar system has 12 planets, maybe more,

11:29 but they haven't discovered yet.

11:33 And this, the solar, the sun and the 12 planets surrounded, occupy a distance that goes to

11:39 4,000,000,000 miles.

11:41 Okay 4,000 million of miles.

11:43 This is our solar system.

11:45 Our sun is a star and, in our universe, there are a billion trillion stars.

11:53 This is stated clearly in the Quran

11:55 when God says, in SURA 40, that the creation of the heavens is a lot more difficult than

12:02 the creation of the human being,

12:04 if you can imagine that.

12:06 But see, we have a billion trillion heavenly bodies.

12:09 No, excuse me.

12:10 Only stars, because there are uncountable decillions of other heavenly bodies associated

12:17 with those stars.

12:20 A billion trillion stars in 1,000,000,000 galaxies.

12:25 All these are scientific facts.

12:27 1,000,000,000 galaxies.

12:29 Our galaxy is called the milky way galaxy.

12:32 And our next-door galaxy is 2,000,000 light years

12:37 away.

12:38 That's next door.

12:40 If you live 2,000,000 years and travel at the speed of light,

12:43 doing nothing else, just traveling at the speed of light,

12:47 you will go next door galaxy in 2,000,000 years.

12:53 There are a billion of those,

12:54 Billion galaxies.

12:57 And we learn from Quran that this...

13:02 Now, by the way, it'll take you something like a hundred billion years to

13:07 just count them,

13:09 not create them,

13:11 just to count the stars.

13:15 They do it scientifically by taking a picture at random of the sky

13:18 and counting

13:19 what's in the picture and then multiplying by the, they calculate the circumference of the

13:24 of the earth and the visible stars.

13:27 This is how they...

13:28 But if you count them, 1, 2,

13:29 and take one second per star to count,

13:32 it will take you a hundred billion years

13:36 day and night without stopping

13:38 just to count them.

13:39 Now, all this we're told in Quran is in the smallest and the innermost of 7 universes.

13:50 So, all this vastness is in the smallest universe.

13:53 Imagine 7 balls inside each other.

13:56 The 2nd universe is bigger.

13:58 The 3rd is bigger than the two.

14:02 The 3rd universe, the 4th, the 5th, the 6th, the 7th.

14:08 Can you imagine the circumference of the 7th universe?

14:13 How long is it, the circumference?

14:15 There is no number that can describe that.

14:18 We do not have... you know, at the time of the Quran revelation, they didn't count beyond 1,000.

14:25 And now, with our computers we do not have a number that will...

14:31 even if you estimate the differences between the 7 universes and be very conservative,

14:38 you still will not have a number that will describe the circumference of the 7th universe

14:45 in light years or millions of light years.

14:48 Infinity would be the closest and most honest description

14:52 of the circumference of the 7th universe.

14:57 If you go to the edge of our solar system, the earth will be almost invisible.

15:06 You have to use very, very powerful telescopes

15:09 in our solar system.

15:11 If you go to the edge of our galaxy, the earth is absolutely invisible.

15:20 And on this earth walked a man called Jesus or Muhammad.

15:25 So, the people do not know God.

15:27 They are unaware of who God is.

15:31 Because this infinity, the circumference of the 7th universe, were told SURA 39, is held

15:37 within God's right hand.

15:40 This allegorical description, being withheld within God's right hand, is to tell us how big God is,

15:48 how great God is, and who God is.

15:54 Because it is not held within his hands. There's a difference between holding something like this or

15:59 like this inside.

16:01 How much space do you have inside your hand?

16:07 God is great.

16:09 And because of this greatness, God is capable of treating you as if you're the only creature

16:15 in the universe.

16:17 God has that capability and He does.

16:21 He's closer to you personally than your jugular vein.

16:25 God is great.

16:26 We cannot understand or encompass the greatness of God.

16:35 God is capable of treating every ant as if it is the only

16:40 creature in the universe.

16:45 Can you imagine the circulatory system of the ant, the heart of the ant?

16:51 It does have a heart and it beats.

16:55 It's not like our heart but it does have a

16:57 heart.

16:58 It has a circulatory system

17:00 and God controls that as if it is the only creature in the universe.

17:09 So, when God says, in SURAH 53

17:13 "God is the One who makes you happy or miserable.

17:15 God is the One who makes you rich or poor."

17:18 And when we raise the new understanding, which is absolutely essential for you to go to Heaven,

17:26 namely, God is doing everything.

17:30 We need to know who God is to understand and appreciate that statement.

17:34 God is doing everything.

17:38 The only thing we do is choose to be with God or with Satan.

17:42 This is it.

17:44 After that God takes over.

17:46 And God makes you rich or poor, happier or miserable.

17:50 God is doing everything.

17:53 However, misery comes from Satan.

17:56 But in accordance with God's will.

17:59 So, the Ultimate Doer is God.

18:02 And we bring the misery on themselves... on ourselves.

18:07 We choose to put our finger in the fire or not.

18:10 So, when it hurts, it's because we chose to put our finger in the fire.

18:14 And it is God's law that when you put your finger in the fire, it hurts.

18:18 So, we bring the pain on ourselves.

18:22 So, if you have any problem of any kind, you just have to ask yourself

18:29 "why do I have this problem?"

18:31 And you have to dig and find out why and remove the

18:34 reasons.

18:35 You have to be honest with yourself.

18:41 AQEM AL-SALAT.

18:43 ALLAH-O AKBAR, ALLAH-O AKBAR, LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH.
